About
The experience behind the work.

I'm Alan Prachar, an independent consultant specializing in web operations and digital experience. I’ve spent my career working where websites get complicated.
Strategy, content, technology, analytics, accessibility, privacy, performance, governance. None of those things exist in isolation, and neither does a good website.
I help organizations connect those pieces, solve problems, and build digital experiences that work better for the people using them and the teams responsible for them.
A career built around the website
My career started with hands-on web development and grew into broader responsibility for digital operations, strategy, optimization, and cross-functional leadership.
I’ve worked independently with clients and inside large organizations, managing websites that had to serve many audiences, support multiple business units, and satisfy the needs of Marketing, IT, Security, Legal, HR, Product teams, and outside vendors.
That experience taught me something simple: the hardest website problems are rarely just technical. They usually live somewhere between people, systems, priorities, and process.
How I work
Practical problem solving.
Finding solutions that work in the real environment, with the real constraints, people, and tools already in place.
Clear communication.
Explaining the problem, the options, and the trade-offs clearly, without hiding behind jargon.
Hands-on by nature.
Strategy matters, but so does getting into the CMS, troubleshooting the issue, and fixing what is actually broken.
Teach, don’t gatekeep.
Helping teams understand the systems they rely on, so knowledge is shared instead of trapped with one person.
Beyond the job title
I’ve always been naturally curious, especially when something isn’t working the way it should. I like getting into the details, asking the right questions, and figuring out where the real problem is instead of stopping at the obvious symptom. A lot of the work I enjoy most lives in that messy middle, where technical, operational, and business needs overlap, and nobody quite has the full picture yet.
I also genuinely enjoy helping people understand how things work, whether that means mentoring someone, explaining a process, or translating a complicated technical issue into something clear and useful. There’s a particular satisfaction in taking something that initially feels tangled or intimidating and reaching the point where the path forward finally makes sense.
Let’s make the complicated part simpler.
If your website needs clearer direction, better operations, or someone who can connect the dots, let’s talk.
