Help Support My Mom’s Fight Against Breast Cancer!

by Alan Prachar on  October 8, 2013 |

For the 11th years in a row, my family will be participating in the Making Stride Against Breast Cancer walk in Point Pleasant, NJ. In January of 2002, my mother, Anki Prachar, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, radiation, and chemo therapy. Her strength has always been an inspiration to me. My mom made it through and has devoted herself to supporting women in the fight against breast cancer. In 2003 she formed Anki’s Yankees, and began participating in the Point Pleasant Making Strides Walk.

Since 2003, Anki’s Yankees has raised over $25,000 for the American Cancer Society Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation!

I won’t be able to make the walk this year. As they’re getting started I’m going to be in a plane on my way to San Francisco for a conference. But I’m still going to do everything I can to support the team! Please consider supporting Anki’s Yankees this year. We always make our goal, and this year, our goal is $4,500. We have a ways to go, but with your help we can do it! Every $25 you donate enters you in a drawing for a week’s stay in our Orlando vacation home (you have to get your own transportation though!) If we beat our goal this year we’ll give away two prizes!
